After years of hard work, John was finally there.  He had trained at his home in Sacramento with his trainer, Charles, and as he turned this particular corner in the French Alps, he could see Charles cheering him on, giving him the extra push he needed over the mountain.  John's sweat trickled down his face, stinging his eyes, but he knew all the discomfort would be worth it when he crossed the finish line.  Just a few more turns and he would be there. Crash.  It was all lost.
